My concern before coming on the follow up workshop was whether or not I could continue where I had left off from the previous workshops that I have been on when it came to de-sensing as the reason I had decided to attend another workshop was that I felt that I had regressed somewhat in my recovery. Lack of self motivation and infrequent de-sensing on my own had meant that my progress had slowed down and hopefully another workshop and group therapy would address this. I wasn't disappointed and soon I was back in the swing of things, de-sensing in the presence of others in public places. I was revitalised and my confidence and motivation restored.
The secret now is to continue the momentum and practice, practice, practice whenever and where ever I can.
If it hadn't been for this workshop and the help of Andrew, Simon and all the great lads who were there fighting their own demons, I would still be sitting at home wondering if I would ever conquer this phobia.
Thanks Andrew and Simon for giving up your time to help me !!!
To those of you reading this thread who are still not sure about attending a workshop, still plucking up the courage to make that first move, don't deliberate any longer. This is definitely the way forward and is the best way to overcome your fears. It does work and as well as the satisfaction you'll get from de-sensing at your own level, you'll make some new friends with similar fears and hang ups into the bargain. 209
