Another really well thought out weekend put on by Andrew and Simon with lots of desensing and advice on how to push your boundaries at your own pace and I was very pleased with my progress having success at the urinals whitch I thought was great and I am buzzing about that . to anyone thinking about doing a follow-up workshop or a beginners workshop then just go for it because you won't regret it ever. Once again thank you so much to Andrew and Simon for putting on this brilliant workshop, those guys they are 1 in a million regards Pete
Re: November follow-up workshop 11-13 Nov 2011 London
Just to echo Pete's sentiments and to congratulate Andrew and Simon on another great workshop.
My concern before coming on the follow up workshop was whether or not I could continue where I had left off from the previous workshops that I have been on when it came to de-sensing as the reason I had decided to attend another workshop was that I felt that I had regressed somewhat in my recovery. Lack of self motivation and infrequent de-sensing on my own had meant that my progress had slowed down and hopefully another workshop and group therapy would address this. I wasn't disappointed and soon I was back in the swing of things, de-sensing in the presence of others in public places. I was revitalised and my confidence and motivation restored.
The secret now is to continue the momentum and practice, practice, practice whenever and where ever I can.
If it hadn't been for this workshop and the help of Andrew, Simon and all the great lads who were there fighting their own demons, I would still be sitting at home wondering if I would ever conquer this phobia.
Thanks Andrew and Simon for giving up your time to help me !!!
To those of you reading this thread who are still not sure about attending a workshop, still plucking up the courage to make that first move, don't deliberate any longer. This is definitely the way forward and is the best way to overcome your fears. It does work and as well as the satisfaction you'll get from de-sensing at your own level, you'll make some new friends with similar fears and hang ups into the bargain.
Re: November follow-up workshop 11-13 Nov 2011 London
I found the followup workshop very beneficial and so glad I went. Andrew and Simon are fantastic leaders, always willing to offer advice! It's not as exhausting as the beginners workshop because you all know the format and are eager to practice with like minded people.
Also a fantastic bunch of guys from all walks of life, all fighting there own problems. The social time during the workshop is a lot of fun.
It has helped me be more relaxed around others and speak out about my problems. Get signed up and get on a workshop, it will be one of the best things you can do for yourself!
Re: Feedback on London Follow-up workshop November 2011
To anyone who has attended beginners and has any doubts about doing the follow up my advice is not to hesitate and start planning a follow up workshop weekend. It has really helped me to gain confidence and to get increasingly relaxed about de sensing and making progress without fear of regression. The thing is that at the improvers workshop you know what to expect {the extreme nerves I felt at my first workshop were not there} and you can work on areas that are of specific difficulty in a relaxed positive enviorenment.UKPT has allowed me to start living my life properly again after years of avoidance and excuses for not doing this or that because of toilet situations. It is worth remembering that Andrew and the other helpers do all this purely to help people deal with this problem so yhanks again to Andrew and the team . sorry had to do a smiley LOL
