I’ve just got home from a beginners workshop in Manchester and wanted to share my experience with others thinking of attending a workshop. I wasn’t sure what to expect when I arrived and meeting the other participants and was slightly nervous I must admit. It was great to see that all the other participants were just regular guys from all walks of society and were a great bunch to spend the weekend with. The reception from Andrew and Trevor (workshop leaders) was warm and welcoming and soon put me and the other guys at ease. The content of the workshop was very insightful and the opportunity to practice desensing in a safe environment with other persons suffering from this condition was invaluable and I have made I believe really genuine and positive improvements in a very short space of time. I have left the workshop with a very positive mindset, an action plan to work on and a genuine belief that I will conquer this condition in time. So my message to you all is do not worry and have courage to book on a workshop, you will not regret it and it will change your life.
For the benefit of anyone who is undecided about attending a workshop. Any desensing (peeing) is done by you with only one or two buddies, starting in a hotel room. Some guys think that they would have to go en masse to a public toilet immediately; that is NOT the case. We use a "put a toe in the water" approach, NOT diving in the deep end.
