Radar Scheme
The National Key Scheme (NKS) – often called the Radar Scheme - offers disabled people, or people with health conditions, access to locked public toilets around the country. A Radar key will enable you to use individual toilets fitted with National Key Scheme (NKS) locks.
Many people with paruresis find these very useful in enabling them to use a toilet in private, with private washing facilities.
Don’t feel bad about using a toilet for people with disabilities. Even Tottenham Hotspur’s football club acknowledge that “not all disabilities are visible”.
More than 9,000 National Key Scheme toilets can now be found in shopping centres, pubs, cafés, department stores, bus and train stations and many other locations in most parts of the country.
You can order a key online at Disability Rights UK. You can also order a region list of where the toilets are on the same webpage.
