Pee Buddy in the Midlands?

Hi all,

Im Jon, 23, from the West Midlands. I've had shy bladder for as long as i can remember, and some of the stories on this discussion board are so similar to my own. Finding this website and reading various success stories has given me so much enthusiasm and belief to overcome this problem, and I now want to tackle it head on.

I have read the Shy Bladder book by Soifer, and he explains the benefits of gradual exposure therapy with a 'pee buddy'. Finding a pee buddy to work on and overcome this problem together would be really helpful, does anyone live in the Midlands who would like to meet up and help each other out?

Im also hoping to attend the Manchester workshop in October and i'm nervous.. but really looking forward to it!

Good luck to everyone confronting this problem and if anyone wants to meet up to do the therapy stuff give me a shout!

Hello John,

It's good that you have shared you experiences on the board I would say that in order to locate someone who would n't mind accompying you in your area of the Uk as a pee buddy then I would strongly advise that you make the time if you can to attend one of the up & coming workshops. This way even if the person (s) do not live directly in your area you still may be able to make arrangements to meet them for half a days desensing.

Hi Jon,

Glad you found the forums. Its good to see that you're wanting to get ontop of this straight away! If no one is available to meet up with you, then you can de-sense just as well on your own. Busy service stations are ideal.

Dont be nervous about the workshop, I know I was but its good fun and so reassurung ot be around all sorts of different people with the same problem.

Hi Guys,

Thanks for your support and words of advice. I will be attending the Manchester workshop in October.. once I fill out the forms tomorrow! I figure the only way to overcome this problem is by taking action and giving it your best shot (even if such action is out of your comfort zone), and this website and the workshops sound like a great way to kickstart things.

To all sufferers.. let's throw caution to the wind and be proactive - with enough belief, determination and practice anything is possible.

Hi Jon. Did you ever go on the workshop and if you did can you tell me about it. I have also read the book by Sofier. I would love to find a pee buddy. I live in a village between Leicester and Coventry. If your still intrested in meeting up please get in touch.
