Amazing to see in a club last night!

I have not been clubbing for about a year but last night I left very happy. The club was totally packed and males had started queuing for the cubicles even though there was urinal space free. I was in the queue and despite there being cubicles, it seemed nobody was leaving the cubicles. This taught me that I am actually quick in the cubicles as people were taking a lot longer than me, which surprised me as i usually feel rushed.

It amazed me how many people were queuing for a cubical. Someone made a joke and got everyone laughing by saying 'Im self conscious everyone!' which i felt was good because he was seeing the humor from the situation. Of course there is more to it than being self conscious but it made the whole situation relaxed and put people in good spirits. I actually felt at ease knowing that other people relied on the cubicles like myself.

I think I learnt that this problem is a lot more common than i first imagined. It was great to see a calm atmosphere to what I usually find an anxious situation when i have to queue.

I will look forward to going clubbing in the future with the renewed confidence that I am not alone.

We will all beat this together!

Hi Martin

What an encouraging piece of good news. As you point out, there are quite a few guys who find club urinals uncomfortable to use, and it is good that someone felt able to break the ice by making a light-hearted comment.

It would have been cool if all the guys in the queue had decided to commandeer the urinals, and leave the cubicles for the not-shy. But a step too far too soon eh?

I too go out clubbing most weekends but I try and releive myself on-route to a club either down some side alley, dark corner of a car park and dare I say it a cemetry - I`m sure the big man upstairs will understand!! I too echo your thoughts and observations, many club/pub toilets are very substandard but i understand why as management wouldn`t pay lots of money for revellers to destroy and generally make a mess of them. The new thing I have found is to have minders in the toilets who are offering perfume, sweeping up etc....which is a nightmare.

On several occasions I`ve found myself caught short and left the club to take a leek somwhere and came back, paid again and regained access. Sometimes you can blag the bouncer and tell him you gotta meet a friend outside for some reason or another and you`ll be back in 5.....

The problem is much worse than what we all think and I too am contempleting making a joke out of it the next time i`m in a panic situation with my friends, it obviusoly helped with your predicament and would be something that all blokes could relate to!

Hi Stuart,
I know your feeling about escaping nightclubs too well.

Good excuses to use are you need the local cash point, going for a smoke or need to nip to you car for medication, you could always say your are diabetic.

Most door staff seem to except these excuses and let you back into the club with no re-entry fee.

I have been out to the same club since. A few weeks ago I had some drunk guy shouting 'Cocaine or a s**t' at me which i found quite amusing. He knew so little.

Two nights ago I was in a club and once again quite a few of us were queing for the cubicals. My brother informed me that he spoke to someone whilst waiting and found it quite pleasing to discuss not being able to use the urinals.

I think this is a major problem of a lot more people than i first anticipated. I have seen so many people queing up for the cubicals, most of which being quite relaxed.

I will continue my clubbing adventures and If i get chatting to anyone(Well you do when you are drunk in the toliets) - I will tell them about this site

I take comfort in knowing how we can relate to each other in respect of club toilets! I had some good experience at the local last week as I managed to go and the trough urinal, but that was only because I knew the pub was virtually empty as it was nearly closing time and nobody would be likely to come in. Didn`t stop my legs from shaking and heart racing though!!

Club toilets are a nightmare though and I find them to be very aggressive places, a few years ago I went into the gent`s at a well known chain of clubs, found the cubicles both to be locked, panicked and head for the door. Some reveller was taking a leek at the urinal, looked at me and said "toilet`s here mate" gesticulating that I should go next to him and getting a few laughs from his friends.

These kinda places aren't particularly friendly which doesn`t help when you`re nervous to begin with, some service stations and other places are much easier to deal with, pub/club toilets are the worst.
