The Workshop

I did the workshop
Make every effort you can to go along.
There's no pressure or embarrassment
So you see I still cant spell. But I can now pee in public.
Andrew and Colin were brilliant.
So go go go, the workshop will definitely help.
So stop reading and email Andrew as soon as poss.
Yes we are all normal and sick of suffering this horrible complaint.
Be positive, give it a try, what can you lose?

I also recently attended the London workshop. Like everyone, I had doubts but can only recommend the experience. I was a little nervous at first but soon settled in and found talking about the problem with others was a huge help. The workshop leaders have a great understanding of the condition and provided me with excellent help. I, like everyone else on the workshop am astounded with the progress made after just one weekend.

As already mentioned by the others,the London workshop was a huge succes.
Very relaxed atmosphere and the progress after just the weekend is amazing.
In my case the problem is not solved completely,but at least now i have the right tools and attitude to continue working on it.
Colin and Andrew are there for you and they really know how to motivate people with their knowledge and often very good sense of humor.
The fact that you're there with people that have the same problem makes you feel at ease and it confirms that you are not the only one suffering.
When in doubt whether to attend a workshop or not...don't!
Just go,you won't regret it!

Just to let those who follow this discusion board but have yet to commit to actually attending a workshop that it really is worth it! I attended my first workshop last weekend having been reading this website and discussion board for close to 2 years. I was very nervous beforehand but after meeting on the Friday evening I was quickly put at ease. It has shown me that I am not alone with this problem and with the support of Colin, Andrew and the other attendees I left on Sunday with a new positive outlook and am now determined to crack this problem and get my life back.
If you are thinking of attending a begineers workshop and are not sure if it can really help you, I can tell you it can. Just do it!!

As one who was old enough to be the father or grandfather of everyone else at the recent Workshop and a bit hesitant about going,I would say to anyone, whatever your age,forget your hesitancy - just go. You will find nothing but friendliness,sympathy, and support. I have been trying to cope with this demon alone all my life till early this year, but finding UKPT and going to the Workshop to meet and work with such nice people has boosted my confidence and made me feel much better about myself. The weekend was,in a sense, the event of a lifetime. Do go to one - you will never regret it. Pete.

I have just attended the London Workshop, I was the only lady there, and found it the most terrific experience in dealing with this problem. When I booked, I thought the ladies would be far fewer than the men, then Andrew let me know that I was in fact the only female. Having made up my mind in the first place to go, I was determined not to back out now. Arriving on Friday, the worst bit was walking down the corridor and entering the room, but I braved it, and recieved a warm welcome, sat down, had a furtive look round, and realised I wasn't the only one feeling a bit nervous. Once the worshop got going, it was just such a relief to hear people talking about the problem, which is essentially the same whichever sex you are. I made such good progress over the weekend, as it changed my whole way of thinking about it, and showed me ways to deal with it that I could take away and practice. Already I am weeing in situations which previously I found difficult, so, ladies, don'e let being female put you off a workshop. I shall be attending the improvers, and won't care a bit if I am again the only woman.

I joined the last London workshop and can endorse it also. Let's face it, spending a weekend focusing on understanding and improving this condition seems pretty bizarre. And that can put you off applying. But you reach a point where, if you're affected by this condition, then NOT spending a weekend on it is also pretty bizarre. All I can say is that it is well worth going. For myself, it has given me new approaches and outlooks, which I am now putting into practice day on day.

I completely agree with everything everyone else has said about the london workshop. It has made so much difference to my day to day life. I'm not now anxious about when I can safely go and almost don't care if I fail to go in front of people I know. I never thought this was possible before the workshop. Sure I could get over missfires (after studying this website) but to not care about them is another matter. After receiving so much good advice and putting those methods into practice life is so much better!

The workshop wasn't really much work, it was just an enjoyable weekend with great people trying to get on top of this problem that bothers us constantly from day to day. For anyone that is not sure that the worshop is right for them or even possibly that the workshop won't help them deal with the situations that they struggle with I really recommend that you give it a go. It has made so much difference to me and I am eternally grateful to Colin and Andrew and everyone else that was there!

So glad to read your encouraging message Christina, I am on the list to attend a beginner's workshop and rather nervous that I might be the only woman. I hope you are still making good progress.
