Just wanted to give a bit of feedback from the London workshop last weekend.
Firstly, a massive thank you to those running the workshop. Your understanding attitudes were so helpful - I think the workshop was probably one of the hardest things I have ever had to commit to but most likely one of the most useful. Also a big thank you to every one else who attended for your support and understanding, it was lovely to meet all of you and I hope to see you at a future workshop. It was brilliant to talk to a bunch of guys who all shared the same thing - no explanations required, everyone understands exactly what you're going through and it really does help to talk.
The workshops are brilliant and they really work. It took me 6 years from finding out the UKPT ran workshops to commit - please don't wait as long as I did if you are on the edge and go for it, I promise you will not regret it. The progress I made even over the weekend really surprised me. Obviously there is no quick fix for paruresis but by the end of a workshop you will feel way better about tackling it and may well already even be on the way to recovery. In 18 years of suffering from AP, the workshop by far was the most beneficial thing I have ever done on my road to recovery.
So my advice to anyone struggling to commit is this: Grab the bull by the horns, go for it and you won't regret it. Instead you'll finish the weekend feeling like you really achieved something.
Cheers for now,
