What happens at a workshop

I have suffered in silence for 50yrs. Tried my GP a couple of times which was a waste of time. Tried things myself with limited success. I would say that my phobia is relatively severe.
So, what can I expect to happen at a workshop? I am tempted but need to know what goes on.
