A couple of months ago while catheterising myself I found difficulty in inserting the catheter when about 1" into the urethra .I did not want to tear the urethra so I contacted my GP who referred me to the hospital to have the camera inserted to inspect the problem. in the urology dept the doctor inserted the camera and said that all was well except for a slight restriction about 1" into the urethra but he was not going to do any rectification and I was discharged. He then asked "how I knew where the restriction was "and I told him I self catheterised,he said" all the time" ? I said no just intermittently in social occasions as I suffered from Paruresis a nervous problem.He took exception to this,"Never heard of it"he said."You either can pee or you can't pee there is no in between and if I had my way you wouldn't be using catheters and walked out of the room. These Dinosaur Doctors don't you just love em!
