living with paruresis

These stories describe from first-hand experience what it is like to have paruresis, and to have to deal with the consequences on a daily basis. Because sufferers go to great lengths to hide their condition, and certainly do not talk about it, society as a whole is largely unaware of the condition, and totally unaware of the extent to which it can demolish self-esteem, self-confidence and happiness. Some of these stories make for painful reading, and we are grateful to the authors for writing them; doing so can be a painful experience also.
