CBT help

I attended a Workshop a few years ago, which I found to be of great help and would highly recommend. Since then I have been practising graduated exposure, which has been beneficial to a degree. Having just returned from holiday which involved flying, I realise that I am in desperate need of help in my mental attitude to my problem. To that end, can anyone recommend a therapist in Hampshire or surrounding areas, please?

Honestly Bill I would recommend coming to a follow-up workshop. A beginners workshop gets you off the ground, but most guys find they need a Follow-up workshop (which is run differently) in order to consolidate things. On that workshop, we can also spend more time on attitude issues. There is one in London May 5-7th. Get yourself on it.

Take it from experience Bill, the workshop and the follow-up workshop's are far more beneficial than seeing a therapist.
Everyone at the workshop has personal experience of paruresis and therefore understanding of it whereas a therapist has not.
Well done on your gradual exposure!

Andrew, Karl, many thanks for your responses. I suppose at the back of my mind I knew that being able to meet and discuss matters with others is the way forward.
Andrew, I can't attend the London workshop in May, but I think a three and a half hour drive to attend Manchester in June will be worth it.

Hi Bill

Excellent. A word of warning: the M40, M42 and especially the M6 on a Friday afternoon are congested. Allow 1-2 hours extra! Or better still let the train take the strain. I think they are every 20 mins from Euston and take just over 2 hours.

Bill,
Do not dismiss a Therapist if you think one would help, I saw one years ago and I made great steps forward, I was referred by my G.P and it was all on the N.H.S.
