I would like to thank the team leaders for running an excellent workshop last weekend; their support, care and empathy is really appreciated. I’m sure that all those who attended had a really positive experience... I certainly did. The workshop provides an essential ‘tool kit’ for overcoming AP with coping strategies and graduated exposure sessions, plus a chance to mix with other people with the same problem, in a stress free environment. Over the years I have been to doctors, urologists, hypnotists and therapists etc. but nothing compares to the care and insights given on these weekend courses. My advice for anyone suffering from AP would be to attend a Beginners and then Follow-up workshop; they will help to change your life for the better.
I also want to extend my thanks to Jonathan, Mark and George for putting us at ease and presenting such a constructive and informative weekend. Thanks also to all the participants whose input was invaluable. After such a successful Beginners workshop and the progress I made I thought it may not have been necessary to attend a Follow-up. However, having now attended I can say that both workshops are essential. For sufferers of this condition I would strongly advise taking the opportunity to attend both workshops. As Ross A has said "they will help to change your life".
I would also like to thank the team leaders, Jon, Mark and George, and also the fellow participants for this follow-up workshop.
The workshop was intense, exhausting and certainly not the most fun way to spend a weekend in London. However it was enjoyable in a different sense. You'll learn, or be reminded of, both overcoming and coping strategies. There's always a new angle or something you haven't considered that can help you progress.
As in the Beginner's workshop, one of the things I found most valuable was sharing experiences and tips with fellow participants. No one understands this condition better - the sacrifices, the unusual behaviours, and also the joy of victories - than a fellow participant. As Ross A, over the years I've also went to several health specialists, and there is no comparison with the understanding and insights provided in the workshop. The workshops are light-years better value for your time and money. You'll be very glad you attended. They really help you improve your life.
