i am 47 years old & i have lived with this nightmare all this time i honestly believed me & my brother were the only ones with it i,ve hid it from everyone except my wife even my children.until oct 18th 2011 when i had a heart attack & i was in a situation were i had no choice.i was wired up to machines with a full bladder & they give me a bottle to pee in so i told the nurse & was fitted with a catheter so that day my children & a few of my friends found out.anyway no more was said until yesterday when my daughter put into the computer & to my surprise i find out im not alone im one of an estimated 21 million people world wide. omg hello fellow sufferers please would some one contact me & have a chat it would b great to talk to someone else with this problem its held me back all my life everything i do have to b planned with military precision.but now im determined to beat this.
Welcome to the forums. Its a great feeling when you discover you're not alone with this. Its something people keep to them selves due to embarrassment or fear of what people will think of you.
Its never too late to tackle this, so best thing to do is get booked on to a work shop. Details can be found in the top posts on the forum, and are held in London and Manchester. You'll meet great people, have a great time and come away with a completely different outlook in it and you'll be amazed at what you can achieve in 1 weekend!
Thanks for ur reply mark I'm gonna go on next work shop in London I've lived with this curse since I can remember its stopped me doing so many things in my life & traveling . I was a great boxer & it stopped me competing for the fear of boxing with a full bladder as Ive got older I've become an expert at getting around situations & gone on to b a successful boxing trainer . But now Ivefound other people with paruresis I'm determined to beat this thanks mark for ur reply. Dave
