Just a quick message to say how pleased I was to have attended the workshop last weekend. Thanks to all the lads on the workshop and to Andrew and Colin for all their help and time!
To anyone reading this who hasn't yet attended a workshop but is considering one, I hugely recommend it. I was pretty nervous about it, but plucked up the courage and was put at ease instantly. The workshop was very useful, interesting and it was easy to have a laugh with everyone.
Have already noticed significant improvements! Good luck on the road to overcoming this!
I would also like to say thanks to all the guys at the workshop this last weekend and of course Andrew and Colin for all you efforts thanks guys you helped me see the light at the end of the tunnel. As dan said to any of you guys or gals out there with this problem get yourselves along to a workshop asap this problem can be sorted out with the right help from guys who have been there.I was instantly put at ease on my arrival after a rather nervous journey as you could well imagine and i stayed at ease for the whole weekend.Good times. I would just like to add that i am on the road to recovery after ten yrs and would not have even thought about using a urinal until i had attended this weekend. So guys/gals there are no magic pills to this solution but what i will say is this, there a ways of getting around it and with the support from guys like Andrew and Colin everyone can sort this problem out gradually and start getting on with there lives again.Good luck peeps this wont be easy but it can be done.
Just like to add my warmest thanks to Andrew and Colin for a great workshop. I really enjoyed myself (yes I do mean "enjoyed") and made many new friends. You ALL made me feel very relaxed and less anxious.
Sharing your stories and hang ups really helps and being in a group situation gives you the motivation and confidence you need to face up to your fears.
My regular CBT therapist was pleasantly surprised (even shocked) this Tuesday when I told him about the progress I had made over the weekend and he encouraged me to "keep up the momentum" by setting new goals and milestones.
Tomorrow I'm "fluid loading" and going to spend an hour at my local motorway services to practice what I've learned.
Practice, practice, practice is the key to beating this phobia and to regaining control of your life.
Why does the workshop work? I liken it to going on a crash course for driving where everything is packed into one weekend and where there is a structured timetable of events where you are more motivated to do things by being in a group than if you were on your own. You learn more in a weekend than you would ever do otherwise. Having other people there with similar problems and anxieties helps you to overcome your fears and everyone just helps each other.
So if while reading this you are debating whether to go on the workshop, the answer is clear. Just do it! Yes, be anxious. Yes, be apprehensive. It's only natural but don't wait any longer to make that decision which will change your life forever. This time last week I was in the same mind set as you wondering whether I would ever get over this problem. Now, one week later, my confidence is sky high and I'm buzzing.
Just want to echo the other guys' appreciation for the effort and understanding put into the workshop by Andrew and Colin.
It was a pleasure to meet such a bunch of stand-up guys who understood exactly what each other was going through.
Like the others have said: it takes a little courage to sign up but I will never regret having done so. I do now feel that I have the tools to move forward and am looking forward to making the effort to do so.
Thanks again to Andrew, Colin and the other chaps present.
Brilliant workshop on so many levels, I'm having great fun zapping my boomonster every day, the support was fantastic, and the knowledge and techniques are already making a difference. I feel very motivated and confident I'm going to beat this. Colin and Andrew, thank you so much, you really do a fantastic job. And thanks and good luck guys, pee loud and proud
Hi Billy "I'm having great fun zapping my boomonster every day" - good job I know what you're talking about!! LOL. Glad to hear it, anyway. Spank that monkey into submission. Let me know how it goes with "the film" Colin
Thanks to everyone who attended last weekends workshop. To anyone out there who is still hesitating, I would urge you to contact Andrew and book your place on a workshop. You know you want to, so just do it. Now. Take care everyone Colin
