have just returned from a month long holiday in asia where I found myself in many difficult peeing situations. I was amazed at how well I coped and how well the workshops I attended prepared me for such challenges.
two years ago, when I began to confront my paruresis (which had come to dominate my life), I would never have thought that such a trip would ever be possible.
i still have lots of work to do and progress to make but the improvements I have made are incredible.
none of this would have been possible without the support of the ukpt.
I remember reading similar posts to this one and thinking ‘well, lucky them but I don’t think this can work for me,’ and yet here i am.
I can’t recommend the workshops highly enough.

Hi all
I have checked with James, and he does not mind my telling you all that when he attended his first workshop, I classified him as a severe case i.e. he could not use cubicles at all, and even domestic situations could be difficult: that first workshop was difficult for him.
He has attended workshops over two years, and the fact that he has enjoyed a month in Asia, mainly in situations that he had no control over, including planes, is a tribute to the effort he has put in to address his severe paruresis; and it shows what can be done, even with severe cases.
Well done James, you deserved to enjoy that holiday :-)
