In may i can go with 3 other friends to Athens for about 4 days.
On the way there i can cope quiet good as i can leave from home and go to the toilet a few times before i leave to the airport. Before i can reduce my fluid intake so i can cope with the 3hr flight plus transfers so about 7 hrs in total. Going in the airport or on the flight is not possible for me. So it’s about 7 hrs without a pee and taking in as little fluids as possible.
But ok, i can manage this.
What worries me a bit is charing a room with the 4 of us, ik know them very well, but still..
One bathroom for 4 people.. But ok, this does not worry me the most.
I fear the day of the trip back home. If it’s a morning flight i probably can’t go before we leave, so it’s reducing fluid intake the night before, visit the toilet as much as possible even going or try to each moment i wake up in the middle of the night, if all goes well. I know, high level of anxiety, low level of urgency is not a good combination, but i don’t want to take the risk by filling up my blather..
If it’s an afternoon flight we probably must leave our room before noon so the chances of going reduce. Unless we are close to a forest or nature park where i can wonder off to and find a secluded spot, but being close to the city i doubt it.
I followed several workshops and know the drill, in fact i cope quiet good, but in cases like this i’m in real agony. Last summer on a camping trip with friends i was able to go at 4:30 am for the last time. We left at about 11am for an 11hr drive, so about 16 hrs without going and taking in only sips of fluid.
The funny thing is, when i travel alone, i usually can go about to every toilet, closed cubical that is along the way, but then off course i have the option to leave the motorway and look for a quiet place or whatever. When in company this is not an option, so roadside toilets, airplanes, trains and even the place we stay in the hours before the trip make me very nervous with the known result...
I already missed out some nice trips with long flights or long drives.
I feel like i always need an escape route, but when on the road with company or on a plane, there is none. Except for a catheter which i always carry with me, but never used it. With just the minimun of fluids taken it does not work probably anyway, i think you need about a 2/3 filled blather.
Any tips?
Thanks for taking the time to read my story.
