I saw a urologist this week,he seemed a kind understanding person in his 60's .So I decided to mention paruresis to him,(even the spellchecker doesn't recognise the word)he said he was vaguely familiar with the word but had only encountered 1 or 2 patients in his career with this,so I said I'd be the 3rd .I said it was an acutely anti social problem where sufferers tended to hide away desperately trying to act normal in any way they can,not telling anybody and going through their life with this secret.In a lot of cases leading to acute depression and I suspect even suicide.He thanked me for bringing it to his attention and he would research it.
