22 hour flight

I recently went to Colombia, to finally meet my partners family. From leaving home in the UK, to finally getting to her apartment,via her mothers home. I had not been able to pee for 18 hours.
On our return to UK, we had 2 fight delays. It was 24 hours before I reached home and was able to pee.
I sawmy gp yesterday and he is testing for an infection. He does not seem to understand shy bladder syndrome.
What can I do.
