Normally you can go to your GP and explain paruresis i.e. that the lock-up is out of your control; and that at times you need to self-cath to avoid urinary retention. Admittedly it is pot luck as to what reaction you will get; anything from understanding and agreement, to total unwillingness. However if they will prescribe, it will be on prescription, which keeps the cost down, and evn zero.
Have you tried this.
Also can I suggest that you come on one of our workshops. We are experienced at helping severe caes tnat use caths.
