I think we need to be careful here; could I suggest that what the psychiatrist meant was that 50% of the patients he sees with parcopresis have been sexually abused i.e. there could be a lot more people he does not see, who have parcopresis and who have not been so abused.
Or to put it another way: people who have been sexually abused come to him for therapy, and it turns out 50% of them have parcopresis.
