We live near the coast so I made the most of the weather and found a beach with a cafe and public toilet. For those of you working towards peeing in company, I stumbled on some benefits here...
firstly, I could watch people going in and out of the toilet from the beach wall and I could actually see whether they were going right (for urinals) or left (for cubicles). This was quite helpful for me as I am at the stage where I want to follow people in a few seconds after and pee at the same time if possible. What was quite frustrating on previous training days was a) having to wait ages for someone to go to the toilet b) plucking up the courage to follow in then find they were using the cubicle anyway! Here I didn't have this problem as I could clearly see whether people were going in for a pee.
Inside this one, there is a wall with four bowl style urinals with no dividers. Four is obviously better than three, which in turn is better than two - which is almost the worst case scenario for me - a two-man trough would be my biggest nightmare at the moment... I'm not sure whether a longer trough is better than two bowls together - answers on a postcard!
Back to the plot, most people go to one end of the four which is etiquette I think and I was able to go in a couple of times and get started at the other end (so with two urinals as a buffer)... I remembered the tips about not totally emptying so I could go quite a few times - the third time I was just following someone in when two really burly types came round the corner - this would have been four urinals with four people so I ducked out of this challenge. The next time I went someone had gone for one of the middle urinals and I was still able to go with just the one urinal between us, so good news. I went out and came back when I was really gagging for a pee (I'd been tanking water all afternoon) and just went cause I needed to! A few people came in and filled the urinals beside me and this didn't seem to make much difference. I think once you've started, it's not really a problem... one thing I've started doing which I think is a good idea is once I'm in flow holding the last part until someone else comes in (provided it's not too long!). The rationale behind this is that I used to see someone coming in behind me as a cue for tying up (almost as if they might be about to jump me) so I'm trying to reprogram my head to see it as a cue for starting to pee instead - hope that makes sense.
Important point: it may seem as if I'm really out of the woods, but I should mention that I am using an Mp3 player so that I can cut out the sounds (I use an ipod shuffle, it's ideal)... I even have some water sounds (like the Waterfall moment from Peep Show if you know that). My next stage is to start lowering the volume over the coming weeks so that I can go with more and more real noise. I still feel that I am a fair way off peeing with friends in a really natural way. I'm still trying to pluck up enough courage to get my wife involved as I think I could desense to the idea of someone right next to me talking to me if I could train with her...
anyway, hope this is a positive one for everyone. Keep posting and peeing!
