I have suffered with this from the age of 16(i am now 39)and it has been controlling and ruining my life. (I could only wee in certain types of cubicles and urinals were just completly out of the question). Now i am on the start of a brilliant and exciting journey and getting my life back!
I was quite scared of even the thought of going on this course but paruresis had taken over my life and something had to be done.
Andrew and Colin (the guys running our course) are BRILLIANT. They made me feel at ease within minutes of walking through the door and their support and understanding is just amazing, then when I met the others on the course I found out that we were all regular everyday people of all ages, shapes and sizes and in all different types of jobs but all with this one common problem, we just cant wee.
Everyone on our course has been a real insiration and help in my recovery. (THANKS TO YOU ALL GUYS you have all helped me so much and been so understanding, supportive, helpful and trusting, thanks).
I have already done things this weekend that i didnt ever think were going to be possible, and am now LOOKING FORWARD to going out to public loos and practicing my newly learnt skills.
So if you are suffering then don't, just book yourself on a beginners course and get your life back, it will probably be one of the best things you have ever done.
Go for it!
Adam.
