Hope you are all ok. I am a fellow sufferer of "shy bladder syndrome" and while I was always aware that the problem existed, I never really ever looked in to the problem. My friends know about it, and I've never had any problems informing people of my fear. It doesn't really affect me that much in public toilets, for my fear is of people hearing me wee. I don't like the noise that having a wee makes. If I am in a public toilet I tend to look at the shape of the basin, and if it's a large busy area I am ok, for nobody can single me out. If however it's a small area and the toilet is shaped in a way that it's likely to be noisy I can't go.
My problem is one that I am happily open about, but I know it is getting worse. I have a few memories from my childhood which may have brought on the condition, so I'm going to go to the Doc's next week to have a chat, and hopefully be referred to a psycologist for some "life coaching".
You know you have a problem when you are at your (sort of) boyfriends and have to leave at 1am to go home for a wizz, only to return 15 minutes later, or wake up at 4.30 am, and decide to go home.......
Anyway wish me luck next week. 548
