There might be one person who notices, but I bet there's others who choose to use the cubicles to if there's a urinal in use. I'm not sure what I'd have done in your situation, probably just kept quiet, but I aspire to being able to just say "yeah I use cubicles because I find I can't go if I'm stood next to someone at a urinal" - not as a big revelation, but just in a matter of fact way. I know from telling a few friends about the condition that some can sort of understand and perhaps would 'lock up' in extreme situations themselves, but some genuinely find it as hard to imagine not being able to pee as not being able to breathe - so I can understand their lack of understanding if no one has ever explained it to them if you know what I mean. Anyway hope you don't let it bother you - for each ignorant opinionated bloke there's loads of people who don't care/notice and would be sympathetic if they knew you had a problem.
