I'm a 28 year old guy who has suffered from paruresis for around 20 years or so. I discovered this website and message board two years ago and worked myself up to go on a workshop, but couldn't make the last London one due to work unfortunately.
I'm motivated to get working on this, and need to wait for the next London beginners workshop but don't want to! I'm at a point where cubicles are always fine, even making maximum noise in the pan. Urinals are more tricky but are manageable maybe 20% of the time (depending on business, whether there are barriers and urgency).
Does anybody else want to begin desensing in London, maybe meeting up one evening for a pint and mutual support/encouragement? Would appreciate some advice from guys who've maybe been to a workshop (though I will go on one asap) as I'm not 100% sure of how to proceed.

hi David Your symptoms sound exactly like mine, unfortunately I live in the Midlands so I am unable to help you as a pee buddy but I do encourage you to go on a workshop. I've just finished the Manchester one this weekend and found it a great help. I was amazed by the progress made in such a short time but there's so much info to take in that the only real way to move forward with this is to attend. Do it, you won't regret it
Well written Jamie! It was great to meet you and be in the same learning process as you. After the group ended i went twice at a urinal with men in the near vacinity. I have already begun to use the methods in the group as taught by our tutors and also the one suggested by Matthew and both have worked well in the last 24 hours. Hope you are able to keep up the good work!
