Street urinals in Brussels

I recently moved to Brussels and have noticed a lot of public urinals in the streets.

This type is found outside the big train stations (north, central, south): http://s11.postimg.org/llbku67mr/image.jpg

This type is found throughout the city centre (Place Fontainas, Place Rouppe, Square de la Putterie, Porte de Hal, ...): http://s29.postimg.org/a0pc9i5av/image.jpg

These are perfect for beginners of graduated exposure therapy: the shape gives some privacy, there are always other people around, they're free, highly anonymous, ...

Also if anyone is in Brussels and wants to discuss paruresis in person with a half-recovered sufferer who has been to 3 UKPT workshops, e-mail me! :-)

Hi Marijn

I have used something similar and found it strangely comfortable. There was a hip level barrier that I opened to step in, and it closed behind me effectively screening my hips level, and the side panels came out further at head level so acting like blinkers that horses have, so I could not see sideways. I then felt in my own little world and peed OK.

Hi Marihn, i'm French and i live in Brussel sinc 2010. I get also paruresie but it seems is ok now. Of cours i still have some problem but,in short i mad a good progress . We can met each other to talk about that.
