Heres where im at now

Hi,I have been severely pee shy most of my life,making me angry and resentful.Over time ive gone from only able to go at home ,to most recently empty toilet urinals if no one enters before i start or bottle it and go into a stall.The breath hold technique generally works in stalls and has lead to a better quality of life.What now is the question?

Hi Rob

Good to hear from you and sorry for the delay in replying. Well done for the progress you have made on your own. You ask what now? Ideally you would come on a Beginners Workshop, where you would learn how to do graduated desensitisation, as well as other useful techniques etc. It would move you forward performance-wise, and change your attitude to paruresis and how you feel about yourself.

In order to continue with desensitisation on your own, can I point you to our website, where there is a description of what is entailed. Have a look at that and then get back to me either here or by email

Hi, I am more or less at the same point as you. I can pee in stalls usually. could you tell me more about the breath hold technique.

hello Matthew,sorry for the late reply as ive had personal issues.
Empty your lungs,sometimes even before entering the toilet.Enter stalls and continue to hold breath .This may take 30 seconds to a minute and you may feel as though you are fighting for breath.the bladder relaxes either through lack of oxygen or taking focus from your problem, if/when the stream starts you can breath normally again.if no luck repeat .Stalls are easier because you feel as if no one notices you holding your breath.It definitely works for me,

Hi, A breakthrough today as i went for a meal on my own and decided to try a urinal with the breath hold technique.It did not work because i still coul not relax ,so i left the toilet for 10 mins only to return to try again.I managed for the first time ever to use a urinal with people in the room.It would be easy to use a stall as there is 4 but its time to move on and up the ante.Very happy day!!!!
