This posting is with the kind permission of UKPT. I would like to offer my counselling services free to one user of the UKPT forum. I will explain the reasons for this and give some of my background.
Those who know me from my postings will know that I suffered this condition for 20 years myself, but have more or less overcome it (maybe 1 or 2 misfires a year).
Over the last three years I have trained in clinical hypnotherapy and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy. In this time I have helped clients overcome or improve conditions like Panic Disorder, General Anxiety, OCD, Social Anxiety and phobias. This year I decided to further my training and do a diploma in Psychotherapeutic Counselling. As part of the diploma I am required to treat a client and write a case study on it. I would like to use Paruresis for this case study. The case study is anonymous so the client will be referred to only as client A. The case will be discussed anonymously only with my tutor who will be acting in a supervisor role (but not present during counselling).
The therapy will be predominantly CBT based and include systematic desensitisation. I am only able to offer this to one person and they must be over 18 and living in the South Wales area (ideally Newport/Cardiff area). Therapy will involve a minimum of 5 sessions and a maximum of 9 depending on the needs of the client. If you are interested please email me below. Please advise your age, how long you have had paruresis, the severity and details of any other problems if applicable (e.g. panic disorder, OCD, depression). I will select the client as soon as possible and advise on this post when the offer is closed. I will do my best to reply to everyone who emails me whether chosen for the case study or not. Many Thanks Martin Burridge email: mburridge@newportct.co.uk website: www.newportct.co.uk
Re: Offer of Counselling for Paruresis - South Wales
Just to confirm that Martin contacted me about his offer and I was happy to let him post it on this forum. I believe it to be an offer worth taking up.

Re: Offer of Counselling for Paruresis - South Wales
Thank you to everyone who registered their interest. Unfortunately I could only select one person for the case study and this person has now been selected so the offer is now closed.Thank you again to Andrew and the UKPT for your help. Regards Martin Burridge
