Hello everyone,
I've had Paruresis since I was 10, now 29. I realised I had problems fully about 4 years ago. I'd say it was was mild AP.
I've been treating it with CBT, suggestive hypnosis, and a workshop. I can say thing are so much better now that I feel the end is insight. There are still a few situations I struggle with, but they certainly don't bother me now.
Recently while reading material on the net about phobias and anxiety, I've realised that I have performance anxiety, especially with public speaking. It's made me realise that Paruresis is probably not my biggest hang up, but has probably come about from a chain of anxiety and experiences in my childhood.
There's a particular year when I was young that I can pin point key events that may have effected me. This eventful year, is when I believe I had my first miss fire! I'm considering using hypnoanalyse to get to the bottom of my hang ups.
Does anyone else have similar feelings to their past and Paruresis?
Has anyone used hypnoanalyse to unlock past experiences?
Thanks.
