In the wikipedia article about paruresis there is a link to NHSDirect (http://www.nhsdirect.nhs.uk/en.aspx?articleID=284). The page does not provide any information about paruresis, at least not to me. Is this true, can somebody confirm this?
On the UKPT website, under "news&info"->"links", there is a link to NHS (http://www.nhs.uk/Conditions/Phobias/Pages/Introduction.aspx?url=Pages/what-is-it.aspx), it is about phobias, but does not mention paruresis in particular.
Can somebody provide a "official" UK link which could replace the dead link on wikipedia?
The UKPT link to the NHS website is to benefot fomr an official explanation of a phobia in simple terms; true it does not mention paruresis, but then it does not mention a whole raft of other phobias either :-). However it does mention that a simple phobia is often seeded at an early age, and that the treatment is desensitisation and/or full CBT.
As such it validates what we do on our workshops: such validation hopefully giving enquirers some confidence to move forward.
