Firstly thanks to Andrew and Colin for a great follow up workshop!
There was a mixture of old friends from the September workshop and new friends who had also attended previous workshops at various times. Knowing people from before made the whole thing not so daunting and having been on a beginners workshop prior to this one made me less anxious as I knew the type of things to expect.
Just in case there are people reading this who are uncertain about going on a follow up workshop, let me stress that you are not judged on your progress since the beginners workshop. Stories and experiences may be openly exchanged but no one is expecting you to have cured your problem overnight or to have stuck rigorously to any goals or targets you may have set yourself.
It is fair to say that the people on the workshop are all at different levels and all have different aspirations. As they know what to expect, they can set their own agenda to an extent to reach their "next level" - and do it at their own pace. Andrew and Colin are there to help you and to reinforce the theory.
Working in a group or with a pee buddy gives you the confidence and motivation you need to try new things and to push yourself (gently) to achieve things you wouldn't think possible on your own.
If you suffer from this social phobia, I cannot recommended highly enough attending one of these workshops. It is the impetus you need to get yourself on the road to recovery.
Thanks again to all the lads from the workshop. I had a great time and my confidence is sky high again!
Lastly, as well as having a weekend away, you get the opportunity to make new friends and talk openly about your hopes and fears. The workshop is worth every penny - priceless!
Cheers Dave , great post . Like you it was good to see familiar faces as well as those of the workshop mentors. All reinforcement helps , especially for me ! For those of you wondering about taking the next step to a "follow up" workshop (or even the FIRST step).... ..... DO IT! Tony
