Does UK Military Allow Alternative Drug Testing?

Earlier today I was praising you guys in the UK on my talk forum. My guess is that you're 20 years ahead of the US in allowing alternative drug testing.

I was asked if your military also allows alternative drug testing, good question...does it?

Sorry do not know teh answer to that.

Both the Prison Service and the police have procedures to cater for AP; but the staff are not always aware of them.

Workplace Drug Testing In UK?

I apologize if this info is on your board and I'm just not spotting it.

How is the UK for workplace drug testing?
Are there any laws for allowing alternative (hair, saliva, blood)drug testing in the workplace?

Here in the US you never know what to expect unless it's a transportation or government test. And then you know you can expect the worst.

Drug testing in industry is usually sub-contracted to testing agencies. They do what is easiest for them. There is no law governing how testing should be done as far as I know. However in the UK it is not observed testing as in the USA's DoT requirements; however even in a cubicle, just having the tester by the door can obviously cause lock-up. Individuals have to make their case for aternative methods. We have occasionally given individuals information and moral support.

no it does not, or at least they dont make you aware of it if they do. been drug tested a few times myself whilst in the army, once in iraq which wasnt too bad because a lot of peopel stuggled to go because they were dehydrated, in the uk it was with a guy next to me at a trough with two people watching behind us
