sharing an hotel room with a sibling!

Hello,

Early Monday morning is our flight to go back to Houston. So, my parents hae decided to book 2 hotel rooms. This hotel is about 5 minutes from the airport so it makes sense because we do not have to rush to the aiport compared to if we decided to stay on at Nottingham. I mean 3 hours versus 5 minutes?

So, I feel nervous about sharing a room with my brother. The beds are not the issue because the room my brother and I are sleeping in has twin beds. The issue is sharing a bathroom.

The relationship between me and my brother is a loving one. We are trying to build our relationship from being away from each other for so long. See, he went to boarding school when I was 10 and from there he moved to Canada. While going to boarding school, he visited us once and it was in December and he moved to Canada he visited us once. So, our relationship has been lacking that bond because of his desire to get out there and do his thing.

It's so easy to talk to my mom about my shy bladder but no so easy to talk to my brother about my shy bladder because we do not know each other as much as we choose to.

Any advice as to how to go about talking to my brother about my shy bladder?

Good on you for wanting to tell him! Remember, he wont think you're a freak. He'll be pleased that you are talking to him about such a personnal problem.

It doesnt matter how you tell him, so just go for it!

I usually tell the person about my problem and then say "I'd be ok if you dont knock the at the door or hurry me, I cant pee when I feel pressure" or something like that

Hi all,

well, turns out I did not tell him.

After driving down to drop off our luggage at the hotel, I used the bathroom and took my time. My brother and dad decided to wait downstairs with friends while my mom was just waiting in the room for me. To my surprise, I was able to pee 70%.

After that, my mom whispered through the door we need to get going, everyone us waiting downstairs and I got mad! I told my mom thank heavens, I atleast peed most of the pee when you called me.

By the evening after we came back from all the roaming around, my brother was the on the phone so he was busy and there was no rush to go anywhere; I decided to pee and took my time. I thought what's the rush if my brother is on the phone?

He didn't asked me why I took so long or anything like that. I was surprised. I remember my mom telling him once on skype that I cannot be pee on crowded bathrooms and he's response was just let her be. At first, I didn't not know how to comprehend the information but after experimenting at the hotel room loo, I got what he meant.

The feeling of he accepts me without making a fuss feels good.
