i havent posted on here for a very long time, but had a recent trip which i wanted to share my experiences of not being unable to pee...
ive just come back from a trip to miami, so i flew out from heathrow, so i prepare myself for the 9.45 min flight, by not drinking any liquid from when i wake up. my flight was at 1.30pm, so in case i couldnt go at the airport i didnt drink. had to be at heathrow 3 hours before flight, found the toilets at terminal 5 easy to use. i never had a problem going, as there were rows and rows of cubicles so i went in the one furthest away. managed to go each time i went up until my flight was boarding.
arrived in miami, having not pee'd for the duration of the flight. my friend then picked me from the airport and took me to my hotel. she came up to the room with me, by which point i was bursting to go. closed the door (no lock) and found i couldnt go because she was sitting on the other side of the wall, so to speak. had to go for dinner, and i couldnt wait to get back to my room and uise the toilet which i did...15 hours later after leaving london
visited my friends house after shopping, went to use the toilet and i couldnt because there was no lock on the door, even though it was only her and her dad in the house. again had to wait a few hours before getting back to my hotel. thankfully my friends didnt come back to the room with me otherwise another potential disaster.
got dropped at the airport earlier then expected, so attemtpted to use the toilets. i couldnt go as there were only 2 cubicles and 2 urinals (never use urinals), and the dividsions as well so much higher that it put me off even more.
ive been suffering for many many years and now ive decided to do something about it now. as even the air steward noticed i hadnt drunk anything during the flight. for which when i told my mum she said u have to be careful becuase they could think that your hiding drugs in your body, wont go into detail lol, so there has to be something i can do to sort this out....
any ideas?
thanks for listening

Hi Adam
To be brief, if only because it has all been said before in postings elsewhere.
1. go to your GP and ask to be shown how to self-catheterise. This means you can always drain off in an emergency; having one in your pocket will remove so much stress, you may not even need ot use it. Tell your GP you get urinary retention.
2. Attend a UKPT workshop; feedback throughout this forum is always positive
cheers
Andrew

Hi Adam,
As Andrew said really!
In the meantime, you can go de-sensing yourself (ie practicing in various different WC's etc). Theres lots of advice on this forum and I think on the main site. Let us know if you would like any further help with this.
Heres my story about obtaining catheters - they have been a real life saver to me and would 100% reccomend them:
