So it happened, my first post-workshop wobble. For those not familiar with this scenario (generally those that havent yet done a workshop), I found that when I left my first workshop my confidence was sky high and for the next couple of weeks I felt like I could make real progress with my AP.
Then I had a misfire, my confidence got shot and all my hard work went out the window. At least thats what happened after my first workshop.
However! I did my second workshop about 6 weeks ago, had been making good progress and then had a misfire in a situation i was comfortable in. This time though the panic did not set in. The advice from Andrew, Colina and the rest of the group kicked in instead. A misfire? So what! It was a difficult situation and just because i didnt go once doesnt mean i cant go again.
I simply took a couple of steps back down my hierarchy, ensured my need to pee was at a good high level and have kept on practicing. I've worked my way back up my hierachy and am now back in the same conditions that i had the misfire, but this time able to go!
I just wanted to share my example of confidence getting knocked, but being practical about the situation and taking steps to deal with it. For me so far the key really has been to practice, practice, practice and most importantly to stay positive!
Well done for persevering with it; it does show how much it is all in the mind.
And this board benefits from real world experiences of dealing with the condition by practicing what you have been taught; so guys, lets be hearing your experiences.
