Hi I'm new here and have suffered with this for years! Thanks for all the community - it's great to know I'm not an alien! I'm really desperate to fix it so am going to make a real effort to get out there over the next few months to the urinals... I am going on a stag do in a few months with about 15 other men - I have no idea how I will get through it unless I get over my stagefright! Fingers crossed...

Hi Adam, Welcome to the club. I've been doing this for about a month now and have been amazed at how well the desensitising works. I'm sure you've read through the info on the site about how to go about this. The thing is, don't rush it. Small steps bring the best results. I've found it has really helped me to post my progress and problems on this message board. I've had loads of really helpful and encouraging feedback and advice. You're not alone, mate. There are loads of us around, it's just that we don't know each other apart from on this site. It's not exactly easy to talk about or ask a mate if he suffers from it, is it? Like you, I have a special event coming up that I need to be able to operate normally for. In July, I'm going gorge walking with my son and a group of complete strangers. This involves absailing, sliding down waterfalls and jumping into very cold water! It takes about 5 hours and I'm going to need the loo in that time! And there aren't any loos half way down a mountain in Wales!! Keep us up to date with your progress. We are all in this together and we'll be rooting for you! You will get there Adam. Keep in touch. Cheers for now, Geoff.

Hi Adam,
Glad to see you found this site. If you havent already, read the post about the begginers workshops. It will be a valuable step to take to overcome this.
Spend some time reading Geoff's posts about his de-sensing experiences and like he said start a post of your own, where you can document your progress. Fluid load, and go for a walk and stop at as many WC's as you can.
