Hi! I'd like to see spanish web pages about paruresis. I don't find anyone. My father suffers paruresis 50 years ago and now is when he needs a solution for its severity. He wakes up from the bed 3 times a night to walk 1 kilometre to be able to urinate in a safe place for him. My family needs help. Thanks

Hello Marcos
I do not know how I can help you from England.
If you were in England, I would advise you to take your father to a doctor, and explain his problem. I would send you a booklet that explains paruresis to give to the doctor. The doctor should send your father to a urologist, and then to a clinical psychologist.
I would also encourage you to ask the doctor to show your father how to use a disposable catheter, so your father could empty his bladder when he wishes. If he had a catheter in his pocket, he would be less anxious, and may be able to urinate without a catheter.
Feel free to contact us by email at the address at the top of the page.
best wishes
Andrew Chairman
