Recently i had to go to an interview for a job i "avoided" for a very long time due to AP. Since attending the workshops i became more confident about my AP and so this time i decided to go for it 100%! But on D-Day my fears where back, i seriously started to doubt about myself, am i ok for the job, will i be able to handle it, will my AP become worse again etc... This was also because besides the interview there where demanding skill tests and theory questions. Thanks to Andrew whom i mailed just before i left home i was able to "face my fear". I said to myself, i can do it, i'm the man, let's show them what i can!! Colin once told me about the tennis players and their "cockpit drill" and how focused they are on their game, well, thanks Colin. I said the famous tennis announcement "time", and completely got into the game. When the worst feared test started i was "in the game", i played it the best i could and afterwards the interviewers said they where "impressed"!! On top of that, on this long afternoon i went to use an urinal twice (while normally i'm still into cubicals), i used them without thinking as i had "other" worries on my mind. Now i'm not saying my AP is cured, definitly not, but it "boosted" my thrust in believing it can be done and i will beat it!! Conclusion: "face your fear", believe in yourself and make it dissapear!! It's not possible to describe how low my self esteem was in the morning, but during the ride back home i looked in the mirror and said, Yes, I'm the man!!
Thanks again Colin, Andrew and all people on the board.
PS if some of you should still have doubts about attending a workshop, don't, believe me it changes your life!!

Hi Jan
Everyone needs support from friends when they are down, but at the end of the day, it is you who had to go through with the interview, and boy have you done well!
cheers
Andrew

Hi Jan Great to hear you did well in your interview. Well done! As Andrew says, overcoming AP is a matter of facing your fears and doing it anyway! Doing it until it becomes routine and "normal" for you. Doing it until toilets feel safe and unthreatening. I am glad you remembered the thing about the cockpit drill, and pleased to hear it helped you on a very important day. Thanks also for the recommendation to anyone who is hesitating to come on a workshop. Good luck with your career, Jan. Colin
