I found that talking can really help this. If you (either accidentally or intentionally) end up in a bathroom with someone, instead of quickly making an excuse and leaving, carry on as normal but engage in conversation with whoever you are in there with. This is best if its a friend (obviously). For me, the brain seems to forget about trying to pee and it starts naturally. Another weird side effect of this condition. But it seems to work..

just back from the improvers workshop, and this was backed up by someone there who had the same experience as you. I haven't tried it in a public toilet, guess I'm normally trying not to draw attention to myself, but know that talking to a friend I was using for desensing in the home helped distract me, with positive results.
