About the UKPT
United Kingdom Paruresis Trust (UKPT) is a UK Charity (reg. no. 1109541) dedicated to helping men and women for whom urinating in the presence or vicinity of other people, is difficult or impossible, and dealing with the problems this brings about. This anxiety based condition used to be listed under the category of Social Phobia, but it is now preferred to refer to paruresis as a Social Anxiety Disorder. The condition is also known by a number of other names including "avoidant paruresis", "shy bladder syndrome" and "pee shyness". It is sometimes grouped along with other conditions under the term "toilet phobia".
The trust's aims are:
The relief of persons suffering from the social anxiety Avoidant Paruresis (aka Shy Bladder Syndrome), particularly by:
1. the provision of internet based information and support
2. the promotion and provision of local support groups
3. the provision of desensitisation workshops
4. the promotion of the concept of individual privacy in the design of public toilets
5. the promotion of research into all aspects of the condition, particularly its cause and treatment
6. the raising of public awareness, including that of the medical profession

The trust is looking to expand its activities to ensure support is offered to more individuals affected by paruresis. As a result the trust is looking to appoint a part-time administrator who will work with the chair and treasurer of the board to provide administrative coordination support to the activities of the trust.

Role Administrative Coordinator
Reports to Chairman of the Trustees (Andrew Smith) & Treasurer (David Winton)
Job purpose
To provide support to the UKPT Charity in three main ways:
• Carry out all administrative & support tasks that allow the UKPT Charity to run efficiently.
• Carry out all administrative & support tasks that allow UKPT workshops to run efficiently.
• Pro-actively contribute to the development and support of UKPT growth activities.
Duties and responsibilities
Carry out all administrative & support tasks that allow the UKPT Charity to run efficiently.
• Assist in keeping the website and forums updated.
• Assist in maintaining UKPT insurance cover.
• Assist Treasurer with bookkeeping, annual accounts, audits, petty cash, gift aid claim etc
• Assist Chairman with regular reports eg chairman’s report, donor thank-you’s
• Arrange, attend and record trustee meetings, oversee the production of minutes and management of actions.
• Manage alumni communications, events and activities
• Manage UKPT filing systems, both paper and computer based. Manage internal databases. Ensure effective data protection is implemented.
• Organise travel and accommodation for trustees and volunteers.
• Order and maintain stationary and equipment.
• Organise and process payments for hotels, bursaries, receipt of workshop fees and all expense claims.
Carry out all administrative & support tasks that allow UKPT workshops to run efficiently.
• Monitor the UKPT online forum.
• Process applications & communicate in a timely fashion with workshop participants.
• Make hotel bookings.
• Communicate all details/arrangements in advance with workshop leaders and send out relevant materials.
• Create folders and handouts for participants and any other materials required by workshop leaders.
• Record all post-workshop data and present in a usable manner for trustees.
Pro-actively contribute to the development and support of UKPT growth activities.
• Develop systems to allow more efficient operation.
• Pro-actively suggest ways to improve UKPT operations/systems.
• Provide direct support to UKPT growth activities.
• Participate as appropriate in fund-raising, publicity, and research activities.
• Support the organisation of “train the trainer” events and activities.
Qualifications & Skills

- GCSEs including Maths and English at grades A-C - A levels or equivalent

- 2-3 years working in a similar administrative role
- Ability to work independently and proactively to a high standard
- Good communication skills, including people skills and ability to produce good quality written documents.
- Good organisational skills, including the ability to manage office systems and deliver work in a timely manner
- Ability to work and communicate sensitively and with tact showing an understanding of confidentiality issues.
- Experience of working as part of a small team, and of closely supporting the work of others.
- Good IT skills, ability to work confidently with word, outlook, excel, powerpoint etc
- Good financial administrative skills, such as budgeting, invoicing, financial record keeping.
- A flexible and open-minded attitude with a positive can-do approach.
- Ability to undertake some occasional travel as required (agreed in advance) - Experience of working in the charity or voluntary sector.
- Experience of working with volunteers.
- Knowledge and understanding of social phobias and Paruresis.
- Ability to maintain online forums and social media systems.
Working conditions
Initially one-day (8 hours) equivalent per week at pay rate £10 per hour, with potential to increase hours. Timing may be flexible and hence overall equal to “one-day equivalent” although may be spread unevenly depending on requirements at the time.
Work to be carried out remotely from the location/home/office of the post-holder.
Post holder to have the following: Fast Internet access (4MB or above), PC, Microsoft office, Skype and Telephone
Prior-approved out-of-pocket expenses to be re-imbursed. 197
