hi Nigel, I'm glad you found this site at last. My main recommendation is to get yourself on one of the beginners workshops as soon as possible. I've just been on the one in Manchester last month and it really is a great help. read the feedback posts and you'll see that everyone who attends gets more from it than they thought they would. You get to talk to others in the same situation as you, and you get a structured plan to follow that has been tested and refined over time. Distance shouldn't be a problem, we even had a guy come from Paris last month. good luck jamie
