Hi Matt, sorry I only just picked this up. I'm 49, so 20 years older than yow, but certainly don't feel like it! ( I still go to gigs and have lots of younger friends... god, your spec on meeting up with someone your own age has me all self-conscious about getting on in life). I've had this debilitating social phobia since I was fifteen, but in the last ten years have made great progress, I like to think. Anyway, I live and work in London, too - work in Covent Garden area - and wouldn't mind meeting up for a natter if you'd like. I've been to a beginners' workshop (Feb 2013) and found it a very useful experience, although I still have the usual avoidant behaviour in certain situations. If you'd like to meet for a drink I'd recommend the Southbank, Royal Festival Hall, etc, on a week night, 'cos there are lots of toilets scattered about and it tends to be quieter. My email address is here, so feel free to contact me and perhaps we can arrange a meet if you still want to. Same goes for any other Londoners reading this. Best wishes...
