I have similar problems with planes. As much as the close proximity of others and time pressure etc I find the movement and vibration very disconcerting and loos on boats, coaches, trains are all problematic. One of my coping strategies on planes has been first to have a stiff drink! Maybe not an option if you’re picking up a hire car at your destination but it helps me relax.
Otherwise this helps me - Try to contrive to get a cup, beaker, glass or other container into the cubicle with you. Sometimes there are small paper cups provided in there but you may have to improvise. Run the hot tap in the small hand washing sink. Bearing in mind what you do next, you do not want water so hot you scald yourself, but you do want it fairly warm. Unzip, point percy at the porcelain (well the plastic at least) and dip your knob into the warm water. I have no idea why this works but it nearly always makes me pee.
I shared this ‘technique’ with a few of the guys on my beginners workshop but no one else had been using it, so it could just work for me. But if you give it a go I’d love to hear some feedback.
Best of luck. 273
