Medics are used to people having issues about peeing in hospital. Be totally open about your need for privacy and for no time pressure when using a toilet. If you are confined to a bed, ask for a catheter; the nurse will do what is required.
Your age will help becaue the assumption will be that an enlarged prostate is interfering with the abilty to pee.
Again be open about it and hand the "problem" over to them.
