I first want to say that I do not suffer from Paruresis but rather BPH/Enlarged Prostate. However, while visiting my Urologist a couple of weeks ago he recommended a brand new product to me that he had done the clinical study for. While he was showing me the sample he had in his office he mentioned that the product could potentially help anyone who had difficulty urinating including those with Shy Bladder. I had never heard of Paruresis/Shy Bladder so I did some research online and was blown away by what I found. I read that approximately 17 million people suffer from Paruresis in the U.S. alone. I also read a lot of forum posts and discussions and found that many sufferers are looking to try anything that might help. I felt compelled to reach out to the Shy Bladder community in whatever way I could to let them know about this product that might be able to help. The product is called FlowPants and it is basically a heated pair of boxer briefs that is battery-powered. My Dr. said that the heat relaxes the muscles around the bladder neck making it easier to urinate and more completely empty the bladder. It is very discreet and easy to use and it is working very well for me so far. I am excited because using this product may actually allow me to avoid a surgical procedure and decrease my medication dosage. I ordered mine at www.myflowpants.com. My Urologist thinks that this product could help Paruretics so it may be worth trying. I hope this helps at least a little bit. Good luck!
