I have suffered from this nonsense for 40 years in agony and humiliation.
The most positive thing I have done in 40 years was to attend the Manchester workshop a couple of weeks ago.
Before the event started I was terrified of the introductions but honestly I swear do not be scared and dont let fear stop you from signing up for the next one.
Every body is scared it's the nature of the beast Im afraid.
The first thing I must say is that Andrew and Mert were superb all weekend long, nothing was too much for them they are patient and understanding and very helpful to everybody who attended.
The workshop has given me a mental kick up the ar*e I had pretty much began to accept my situation and thought I would be like this for ever.
I am not cured yet I hasten to add but I am improving every day.
The main trick to master in my opinion is making sure that when you try to pee you only try when you need to pee and dont go to early.
Also starting and stopping after 3 seconds is another good trick although when you first start doing this it is bloody hard to stop after 3 seconds, but try to do it because this does help greatly.
I am not putting any time on my recovery I just look on it as ongoing.
I have nothing to lose and everything to gain by practising daily.
The ironic thing about this phobia is that there is never a situation when you cant practise so go for it and sign up.
May I also take this opportunity to wish everybody who suffers from this phobia especially everybody I met in Manchester a full recovery because nobody should suffer in silence with this crap.
Good luck and keep going day by day and we'll win this one.
